About the Artist

Lo Parks is an Interdisciplinary artist with a background in sculpture, hailing from Wilmington, DE. They are currently a Junior in the BFA program at University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA, and aim to cultivate their passion for their studio practice as well as a professional career within the curatorial world.
Parks works across disciplines and whether it be through sculpture, sound, video, performance, installation, printmaking, or a combination of these practices, their work considers the human condition and aims to investigate the body in relation to the self, society and the world. Innately they create through a Black & Queer lens, while often using their own body, or the suggestion of such, as a site.
Parks has been recognized for their artistic & academic excellence through scholarships and awards throughout their college career and was recently nominated as an applicant for the Yale Norfolk Summer Residency Program. They have also shown in group exhibitions at University of the Arts, Delaware College of Art & Design and the Rehoboth Art League and will go on to intern at Vox Populi Gallery during summer ‘24.
