Performance/Video Works
Our grief,
Is an ocean between us.
But it bleeds,
The same blue.
Cities, countries, diasporas apart.
we mirror each others
anguish.
It billows
And swells
And sweeps us in the riptide.
Coming from “nowhere”
With nowhere to go.
In a dog-eat-dog world,
With your bark only,
as strong as your bite.
We harbor the inconsolable rage
Of our mother’s
Our father’s
Our sisters
Our brothers.
Backed by
A slew of deprecation
Turned a festering lust
To do more. To be more.
Perpetually guilty bodies,
In the eyes of the dog.
So we choose to wash each other
Clean of original sin
Bathing in paralleled adoration.
Full of grace, & with thee.
Sanctified in the eyes of each other,
Sanctified in the eyes of community.
Diasporas apart.
But it bleeds,
The same blue.
Performed with cheesecloth, water, dignity & care.
